JuniorCAD & BoxIT

Junior CAD introduces students to 3D design work on the computer screen without them having to worry about building models on the screen from individual elements.

The student can either compose their own shape to manipulate or start with one of the programs' existing simple shapes - boxes or simple cars - and simply change their appearance. There are more complex shapes that can also be manipulated.

Once drawn the 3D image can be rotated and scaled. The print facilities give the option to produce the final shape using art straws and paper.

BoxIT is a very simple CAD package and when used in conjunction with the work sheets provided it forms an introduction to Computer Aided Design for pupils at Key Stage 2.
